My One Strategy for 2026

It’s officially 2026.

Which means the pandemic started over half a decade ago. Which also means it’s no longer technically an excuse for anything, but I still find myself thinking and speaking in sentences that start with “since the pandemic…” because there are things in my life that changed during that time and never went back to what we used to call normal.

Some of those changes have genuinely been for the better. Some of them have not. And others are neither good nor bad, they’re just different, and they’re here to stay. And yet, this time of year, people get very excited about fresh starts. New goals. New plans. New systems. New versions of themselves.

But my strategy for 2026 is the same strategy I’ve had my entire fucking life.

It’s one word.

In Spanish.

Seguimos.

We keep going.

I’ve written about this before, because it’s one of the most powerful truths I know how to return to: the only thing we can know for sure is that we can choose not to give up.

No one has a bulletproof strategy for life.
Every human on this planet is making it up as they go, to the best of their ability.

No one is ahead of you.
No one is behind you.

At different moments, some of us are healthier. Some of us have more money. Some of us have better relationships.

But at the deepest level, we are all doing this life, this incarnation, for the very first time. We all started knowing absolutely nothing, and some of us just show that more clearly than others.

What I know for sure is this: I am not giving up on myself. Or on what I want. So I keep going.

If you’ve ever dealt with chronic health issues, you understand this instinct in your bones. Even when there’s no clear diagnosis, no straightforward treatment, or no real cure, you keep looking. You try new things. You search for what might bring relief, because it’s your body and your life. You might take breaks from doctors or treatments because the process itself can be exhausting, but eventually you come back to trying again.

Because what’s the alternative?
Deciding your life is just going to suck forever?

No.

You surrender to what is, and you make the best of it with what you have, right now. And then… you keep going.

The same is true for work. Or business. Or relationships.

Maybe there’s a colleague who makes everything harder than it needs to be. So you experiment.

You try talking to them.
You try not talking to them.
You bring it to your boss.
You do the work yourself.
You ask them to do the work.
You ignore them.
You fantasize about sabotaging them.
You actually sabotage them.

And eventually, through trial and error, you figure out what works for you. Because it’s your life.

Sometimes the answer is leaving. But even that answer comes from not giving up on yourself. It comes from staying in the process long enough to learn what you need.

So this year, instead of obsessing over hyper-specific goals or perfectly engineered plans, I want to offer you a simpler invitation:

Have one strategy.

Keep going.

Breaks are implied. You can’t keep going without them. Rest is part of the path, needless to say.

Seguimos doesn’t mean pushing nonstop.

It means not abandoning yourself.

That’s it. That’s the strategy.

I hope you have a great fucking year.
You deserve it.

Seguimos.
