Maritza Schäfer is the founder of Bruja School and creator of the Liberation Magic Method, a practical system for spiritual and personal transformation, where students learn to work real magic to make their own lives the most powerful spell they’ll ever cast.

Her work starts where most self-help and spirituality stop: with the missing skills for real change. Raised in Chile in a family of witches and initiated into brujería by her grandmother, Maritza learned to work with power, energy, and truth as elements of an integrated system. Liberation Magic teaches exactly that, and nothing is the same after you learn to work magic.

Her teachings center around a simple premise: the secret to life (and everything you want) is spiritual connection, free from religious trauma and new age b.s. She blends her deep lineage of personal practices with three decades of experience in societal change-making: from leading global advocacy campaigns and restructuring major nonprofits to coaching executives, activists, and cultural leaders across four continents to create lasting systemic transformation.

Maritza’s relationship with Spirit is the foundation of all her work, which is deeply connected to Nature and what she calls the nature of reality. Liberation Magic, her signature framework, has 3 main components: the 3 Magical Axioms, the 3 Levels of Consciousness, and the Elemental Framework. These tools move beyond quick fixes, offering students a structured path to clarity, courage, and alignment. Students of Bruja School describe breakthroughs like reclaiming their magic, strengthening their confidence, feeling deeply connected to Spirit, and stepping boldly into lives of purpose and freedom - as well as getting the job, finding the partner, and healing their bodies.

She is an experienced tarot reader and teacher who approaches the cards as a divination (connecting with the divine, however you understand it), rather than a predictive tool. She taught tarot professionally for a 150-hour, ten-month certification at The Scarlet Sage in San Francisco, mentoring intermediate and advanced readers building service-based spiritual businesses. She continues to offer private readings online and in person.

Known for her mix of warmth, honesty, and transformative insight, Maritza offers both mystical and practical guidance. At Bruja School, she equips seekers with authentic spiritual tools and real magic to thrive personally, and to spark transformation in their communities.

She also serves on the Board of the Beneficial Plant Research Association (BPRA), where she helps bridge ancestral plant wisdom and modern science.
