You get to decide what you do with your time.<\/p>\n<p>So the fact that I forget is kind of ridiculous.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I had a great day. Or to put it more mildly, I found myself thinking about something that is part of my actual spiritual practice.<\/p>\n<p>I ask myself, very directly:<\/p>\n<p><em><span><strong>When I die, am I going to be okay with how I lived?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I know that can sound dramatic, but I don\u2019t mean it that way.<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>I mean it as a real way of checking in and making sure I\u2019m living the life I want to live.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The truth is that we are going to die, and we usually don\u2019t know when, and the time in between is not a theory. It is being used, whether we are paying attention to it or not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So I want to be paying attention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Right now, that question feels even more charged, because what is happening in the world is deeply demoralizing.<\/p>\n<p>And not just in a distant, conceptual way.<\/p>\n<p>Here, close to home, 3 days ago ICE was kidnapping people at the San Francisco airport in a way that honestly felt like something out of a horror movie.<\/p>\n<p>And I do a lot of political and social change work, so there are moments where I wonder if I am doing enough.<\/p>\n<p>And I notice that sometimes that question turns into something else, which is a kind of doubt about how I am spending my time.<\/p>\n<p>Like,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>should I really be focusing on Bruja School and Liberation Magic when there is so much other work that is urgently needed?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That thought does come up.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>However, that only lasts for a second, because I know in my heart of hearts that the root cause of all the fuckery in the world is spiritual disconnection.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And teaching people how to reconnect spiritually is the most powerful weapon to dismantle oppression.<\/p>\n<p>When people are disconnected from themselves, from reality, from truth, from spirit, they are much easier to control, to manipulate, and to turn against each other.<\/p>\n<p>And when people are deeply connected, they are not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So for me, teaching people how to reconnect spiritually is not separate from political work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is one of the most powerful ways to dismantle systems that do not have our best interests at heart.<\/p>\n<p>That is why I chose to start Liberation Magic the day after my birthday.<\/p>\n<p>It felt like the most honest way to begin my own personal year, by focusing on my practice and by sharing with others how to develop theirs.<\/p>\n<p><span>I genuinely believe that people who are spiritually awake and alive are a real threat to the rise of fascism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So yes, write to your representatives, join marches, participate in mutual aid, do all of that.<\/p>\n<p>And also make sure that you are spiritually rooted and connected.<\/p>\n<p>Because without that, it is very hard to sustain yourself in this kind of world.<\/p>\n<p>My program, Liberation Magic, has <a href=\"https:\/\/brujaschool.com\/es\/liberation-magic\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"ck-link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>room for you if you want to join<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The content starts right away, so you would not be behind.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>But regardless of whether you join or not, this is what I would invite you to sit with:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What is your practice?<\/p>\n<p>How are you using your power?<\/p>\n<p>And how are you staying connected?<\/p>\n<p>If you do not have clear answers to those questions, or if what you have does not actually hold under pressure, that is not a personal failure.<\/p>\n<p>It just means you have not been taught how to build something that works.<\/p>\n<p>And if you want support with that, it is not too late.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":7020,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_wp_convertkit_post_meta":{"form":"-1","landing_page":"0","tag":"0","restrict_content":"0"},"footnotes":""},"categories":[8,10,6,9,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7018","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-life-love","category-magic","category-personal-growth","category-spirituality","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
